Despite a very large online following, little funding was received since JPEGCompress was first introduced in early 2002. The total amount of donations for JPEGCompress in 2006 was just under $35.00 US, while the costs of maintaining and developing it's feature set surpassed ten-time's that amount.
The decision was finally made to begin charging a small shareware fee in order to continue the development of JPEGCompress.
Our original hope was to be able to accept credit cards in real-time, through our web site, and then issue License Numbers immediately after payment is processed. But in the end, the cost associated with offering that kind of service would dramatically increase the cost of a software license.
It was instead decided that we would process orders traditionally (manually) through our business partner, New Bohlings Incorporated. In doing so, we are able to keep the cost of processing payments down to a minimum.

There are many unknown factors that can determine why you didn't receive your license information, but the most common reason is usually that the License Email was hidden or removed by a SPAM filter.
